School girls take charge educating about alcohol

Two year nine pupils have been educating their classmates on the effects of alcohol, as part of their GCSE Citizenship course.

Both Megan and Leah, aged 14, are students at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Faversham and contacted KCA’s Young Persons’ Service to ask for advice and information to help with their talks to their fellow pupils.

As both girls feel that drinking is a big problem in the local area, and after seeing the effects alcohol has had on people around them, the girls wanted to research and cover a subject for their course that many people can relate too.

Zara Rahemtulla, Substance Misuse Practitioner from KCA’s Young Persons’ Service, met the girls at school to have a chat with them about what KCA’s services provide and to give them advice that they can pass on to their school mates.
