Young people making music

A series of workshops have been organised with Pie Factory Music in Ramsgate by the young persons’ service.

In their recording studio, the young people were taught skills in music and sound making, lyric writing and music technology. Everyone worked together and created their own CD to take home with them.

One young person said: “It was fun – there was one girl who was amazing at writing her own lyrics – she taught me how to put what I was thinking into words. The staff were really chilled about everything. I particularly enjoyed learning how to beat box properly.”

Another young person, said:  “I really enjoyed the Pie Factory session – it encouraged me to go to the other workshops that they offer on my own. I didn’t have the confidence to share my lyrics but they made me feel comfortable. Going helped me relax and took me away from the stress at home.”

Pie Factory Music is a charity set up to provide free accessible music and related arts workshops for young people across East Kent. These are primarily but not exclusively for people aged between 0-25 years. Find out more www.piefactorymusic.com
